M.Sc. Agriculture Botany

M.Sc. Agriculture Botany is a master level course. It is the science of plant life and a branch of biology and the science and art of cultivation on soil and the rearing of livestock. This course helps to learn many facts of the careers involving natural resources, livestock production, agribusiness management, agricultural management, soil conditions.

The course mainly revolves around agricultural studies and various scientific processes that are involved in agriculture. In order to be eligible for the course, the students must have a BSc degree in subjects like Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry. Botany is the branch of biology that deals with the study of plants. It is one of the oldest branches of biology. There are several different branches of botany, including ethnobotany.

Agricultural botany is defined as, the scientific study of plants, including their physiology, structure, genetics, ecology, distribution, classification, and economic importance. The Agricultural Botany section in the college basically includes different disciplines viz., Genetics and Plant Breeding, Crop Physiology, Plant Biotechnology, Seed Technology and Environmental Sciences.

Masters in Agriculture graduate’s prime duty is to implement agricultural methods to estimate the crop growth stages and render routine consultations to face harvesting situations of different crops.

In addition, they are also equipped to examine demographic studies concerning the agricultural division to define market and sales rates, highlighting the agro-economy.
